An issue we can all agree on

Re "Support public transportation" (Monitor letter, June 8):

The global warming scam is just that, a scam to redistribute wealth on a worldwide basis. Regardless I am in total agreement with Madison Daniels on the other benefits of rail and bus service.

Imagine the positive impact rail service would have on our roads, energy needs, air quality, and perhaps just as significantly our nerves! I might even be able to meet up with some of the liberal contributors to the Monitor and debate the issues that seem to divide us.

Solving our energy problems should be a nonpartisan issue. It's truly shameful that Congress fails to address this challenge in a timely manner. I ask our state and U.S. representatives to get the ball rolling on this mutually beneficial issue. I'll see you on the train to Boston!
