THIS WEEK'S NUMBER: $640 million (hint... not billion)

The Mouse that swallowed the Elephant-

Verizon wants to sell all their telephone landlines in Maine, NH and Vermont to a small communication company called FairPoint Communications. The value of the Verizon properties and services it is selling to FairPoint is worth a whopping $ 2.7 billion, the total value of FairPoint Communications, which owns a hodge-podge of 31 tiny telecommunications companies in over 18 states, is JUST $640 million (not billion).

Is FairPoint qualified to make this Purchase? Would you want your telephone future in these hands?

There are many, many more issues that need to be examined. This is just a snippet of what's wrong with this deal. For more in depth details, please go on-line to www.no-deal.org. This is a bad deal for consumers, tax payers, rate payers, our communities and for the economic growth of New Hampshire.
